Public Information

****Island Beach State park There will be no Swimming and no Surfing permitted Thursday Sept 2 and Friday Sept 3****

****Cape May Point There will be no Swimming and no Surfing permitted Thursday Sept 2 and Friday Sept 3****

****Corson' Inlet There will be no Ocean Front Launching of Boats, no Swimming and no Surfing permitted Thursday Sept 2 and Friday Sept 3****

Bass River State Forest will be closed for swimming on September 2 & September 3.

Spruce Run swimming area is closed for the rest of the season.

Stokes State Forest will be closed for swimming on Sept 1, 2, 3.

Long Pond Ironworks State Park & Ringwood State Park

Approximately a 3/4 mile portion of the Hasenclever Iron Trail is temporarily closed to the public in the area of Peter's Mine. From the Ringwood Manor side it is approximately 1.5 miles in and 4 miles in from Long Pond Ironworks. There is currently no reroute, please plan accordingly. For more information call the park office.


Swartswood State Park

Beginning July 1, 2009, visitors to Swartswood State Park will need to follow the detour signs to direct them to the park's entrance. Sussex County Route 622 will be closed to through traffic between the intersection of County Route 619 in Hampton Twp. (Milepost 1.0) and the intersection of Anderson Hill Rd (Milepost 3.71) in Fredon Twp for the replacement of County Bridge Structure H-03. View the detour map on the Sussex County web site.
